Delicious Turkish chillies are salted and oiled, before crushing, to produce these Aleppo Chilli Flakes. As only a few seeds are included, the result is mild and sweet, without too much heat or pungent chilli aroma. The flakes have an Ancho-like flavour with a little more heat and tartness and impart deep red colour to marinades, sauces and dressings.
Aleppo Chilli Flakes are great just sprinkled over your food. You often see them in shakers on tables in Turkish restaurants where they are used as a condiment, just like pepper, to add warmth and texture to dishes.
Store in a dark, cool & dry place.
