Aloo Tikki is a popular Indian Chaat item. This is again a street food and the vendors make fresh ones just right in front of you on those hot griddle to finish it off with some Chole(Chickpeas), plain Yogurt, Green Chutney and Sweet Chutney! Sometimes it tastes good as a Veggie Patty for the Burger or just eat it plain as it is. All in all a yummy dish to relish!
• Take Green Peas in a bowl and mash it with the back of a spoon. To this add all the other stuffing ingredients except Oil and mix well. Divide this mixture into 10 equal parts and keep it aside.
• Mash the boiled Potatoes into a smooth paste. To this add Salt and Pepper Powder and knead and mix well. Divide this also into 10 equal portions.
• Now Oil your hands. Take each portion of the mashed Potato and make a ball. Flatten this into an 1/2 inch thick patty and place the stuffing in the centre of this and pull the edges together so that the stuffing doesnt come out.
• Next flatten this into a Patty.
• Heat a teaspoon of Oil on a griddle and slip these Patties over it and fry on both the sides on low heat till they are golden brown in colour. Add some more Oil if required.
• Hot Aloo Patty is ready to be served with Yogurt and Chutneys!
