Toover Lilva are small, yellow-green Indian bean seeds.
Ingredients:
Toovar Lilva (Indian Bean Seeds), Water, Salt, Citric Acid. Produce of India.
Recipe Suggestion:
For a delicious and authentic dish using East End Toovar Lilva
1 tin Toovar Lilva, drained and washed
4 tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp coriander powder
8 oz tin tomatoes, peeled and chopped
1 tbsp garam masala
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves to garnish
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onions until golden brown.
Add the tomatoes, chilli, coriander, turmeric powder and salt.
Stir and fry on a medium heat until the mixture is well blended and the oil has separated.
Add the Toovar Lilva, cover and cook on a low heat for 10-15 minutes, adding a little water if the mixture dries to achieve the desired consistency.
Sprinkle over the garam masala powder, stir and garnish with green coriander leaves.
Serve with naan bread or rice.
