Sambar Powder - Eastern

Ingredients: Coriander, Chilli, Gram Dal, Fenugreek, Salt, Cumin Seed, Turmeric, Asafoetida.

Recipe Idea: Eastern Sambar.

˝ cup Dal
3 tbsp Eastern Sambar Powder
5 cups chopped assorted vegetables
1 cup chopped Okra (Ladies Finger)
Red Chilli to taste
Small Onion
Mustard Seeds and Curry Leaves (as required)
Tamarind Water
Salt to taste

Preparation:

1) Cook Dal. Add chopped Vegetables and Salt and cook till vegetables are half cooked. Add chopped Tomato and Okra and cook further till done.

2) Add Tamarind Water and bring back to the boil.

3) In a seperate pan, heat the Oil and crackle the Mustard Seeds. Add Eastern Sambar Powder, Red Chilli sliced small onion and curry leaves and sauté till Onion cooked.

4) Add to cooked vegetables and serve
