Galanagal, a rhizome from the Ginger family, is used widely in Thaiwanese cooking.

Use Galangal in much the same way you would ginger - peeling and then grating or finely chopping.

Galangal is also known for its medicinal properties and can be used to aid digestion. Some even say that Galangal has aphrodisiac properties!
