Idli - Rice Lentil Cake Mix - Gits

Light and fluffy, snow white, steamed rice cakes that taste great. Enjoy Idlis with sambhar, chutney or pickles. Also delicious with a dab of butter.

Make 16 idlis of approx. 35g each in 3 Easy Steps:

• Mix contents of this (200g) pack with 320 ml water and 15 ml oil. Stir to smooth batter and set aside for 10 mins.

• Lightly grease Idli moulds with oil. Stir batter gently and pour 35ml (1.25fl.oz) into each mould. Boil 600 ml water in a large steaming vessel or pressure cooker.

• Place Idli moulds inside. Cover and steam on high heat for 15-20 mins. If pressure cooker is used, do not apply weight/whistle. Serve steaming hot, fluffy side up with Gits Instant Sambhar and coconut chutney.

Ingredients: Rice Flour, Lentil Flour, Salt, Raising Agents (Citric Acid, Sodium Bicarbonate), Fenugreek Powder, Acidity Regulator (Sodium Acetate).
