Idli - Rice Lentil Cake Mix - Gits

Available in 200g and 500g packs.

Light and fluffy, snow white, steamed rice cakes that taste great. Enjoy Idlis with sambhar, chutney or pickles. Also delicious with a dab of butter.

Make 16 idlis of approx. 35g each in 3 easy steps:

1. Mix contents of this (200g) pack with 320 ml water and 15 ml oil. Stir to smooth batter and set aside for 10 mins.

2. Lightly grease Idli moulds with oil. Stir batter gently and pour 35ml (1.25fl.oz) into each mould. Boil 600 ml water in a large steaming vessel or pressure cooker.

3. Place Idli moulds inside. Cover and steam on high heat for 15-20 mins. If pressure cooker is used, do not apply weight/whistle. Serve steaming hot, fluffy side up with Gits Instant Sambhar and coconut chutney.

Ingredients: Rice flour, lentil flour, salt, raising agents (citric acid, sodium bicarbonate), fenugreek powder and acidity regulator (sodium acetate).
