Haleem Mix - LazizaBy: Laziza Ref: MCM041
A complete mix with spices, pulses and grain
375g (1 sachet of spice and 1 bag of grains and pulses)
Serves 14-16
Ingredients: processed wheat, pulses, barley, red chilli, coriander, cubebs, mace, turmeric, cumin seeds, black pepper, cinnamon, clove, cardamom, bay leaves, dried garlic, dried ginger, salt.
Recipe Suggestion
500-700g large, boneless portions of meat (mutton, chicken, beef) 300g ghee/cooking oil 1 onion, finely sliced To taste: fresh sliced ginger, green chillies, coriander leaves, lemon juice and fried onions. 1 Laziza Haleem mix
1. Wash and soak the grains and pulses in water for 1-2 hours. 2. Heat half the ghee/cooking oil in a large pan, and stir fry the meat and Haleem spices for 3-4 minutes. Add the soaked grains and pulses and 12-15 glasses of water, cover and cook on a low heat until tender, stirring occasionally. 3. Remove half the cooked Haleem from the pan, blend coarsely and then stir back in the pan. 4. Heat the remaining ghee and fry the onions until golden brown. Add to the Haleem and cook for 5 minutes on a low heat.
Serve the Haleem sprinkled with Chaat Masala and garnished with your choice of chopped green coriander, green chillies, ginger slices, fried onion and fresh lemon wedges.
