Pani Puri is a delicious traditional Indian dish that combines light and crisp Puri shells with a savoury bhundi filling and spiced sauces. It's ideal as an appetiser, for parties, buffets and special occasions.

This Ready to Eat Meal Kit contains everything you need to make 30 Pani Puris (30 puris (90g), pani puri paste (50g), date and tamarind paste (80g) and bhundi (60g)) - simply make a small hole in each crispy puri, add the bhundis and pastes and your choice of garnishes.

Pani Puri - Classic Recipe

Prepare each ingredient as follows:

Pani Puri Water - add 250ml of chilled water to the 50g sachet of Pani Puri paste, or dilute to taste.

Date and Tamarind Paste - add 180ml of chilled water to the 80g sachet of Date and Tamarind paste, or dilute to taste.

Bhundi filling - soak bhundis in water for 2 minutes then drain off the excess water.

To make Pani Puri - place Puris in a large dish and make a small whole in the top of each one. Half fill the Puris with Bhundis, add some Date and Tamarind Paste, and then sppon in some Pani Puri water to taste. Serve immediately.

For a delicious alternative, add some chopped boiled potato, sliced onion and fresh coriander leaves.

Dahi Puri

Place the Puris in a large dish and make a small whole in the top of each one. Half fill the Puris with Bhundis. Pour some plain yogurt (dahi) over the Puris and drizzle with Date and Tamarind Paste. Sprinkle with salt, red chilli powder, cumin powder and chaat Masala to taste.

Serve garnished with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
