Easy Cook Long Grain Rice - Tolly Boy

Tolly Boy Easy Cook Long Grain rice is a delicious accompaniment served hot or cold with savoury dishes. Try using chicken or vegetable stock instead of water to cook the rice, or season the water with herbs or spices for flavoured and lightly coloured rice.

Add a little vegetable oil, butter or sesame oil to cooked rice for extra flavour and to glaze the rice.

Because Easy Cook Rice stays fluffy and separate when cooked, it is ideal for freezing. Pack the cooked, cooled rice into air-tight freezer bags or boxes, and freeze for up to 6 months. Thaw at room temperature for about an hour per 250g rice or microwave on the defrost setting for a few minutes. Reheat in the microwave, or place in a pan of boiling water for a minute and drain to serve.

Easy Cook Rice is excellent for stir-fry recipes. Try delicious egg-fried rice: fry a little chopped onion and bacon in a wok or frying pan, push to one side of the pan and add a little butter. Add 2 beaten eggs, stir once or twice and cook until nearly set. Add 450g cooked rice, 3 tbsp frozen peas and 1tbsp soya sauce.

Cook for 2-3 minutes, stir and serve.
