Jeera Rustic Indian Curry Sauce - earthy, smoky spices with cumin, ginger and tamarind in a tomato base sauce - tastes great with white fish.

A traditional base for most Indian Curry dishes, Jeera, (a Punjabi word for cumin), a main ingredient in this sauce, has a distinctive aroma. The flavour is earthy and warm and works well with meat, cooked beans, lentils and seafood.

Cook a real Indian Curry in 10 minutes...

Jeera Chicken

• Empty the pouch of sauce into a large non-stick pan, add 375g chicken breast in bite size pieces, no need to brown the chicken first.

• Stir well until everything is coated, cover with a lid and cook over a medium high heat for about 10 minuets, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through.

• Sprinkle with fresh coriander and serve with chapatti or steamed rice.

• For more sauce, add up to 200ml water to the pan. The sauce is also delicious with 100ml cream, creme fraiche or low fat yogurt stirred in just near the end of cooking.

Jeera Fish

• Lightly fry 375g white fish fillet for 2 minutes. Add the Jeera Sauce.

• Simmer until the fish is cooked, around 8-10 minutes or until tender.

• Try this with Basmati rice, couscous or naan bread.
