Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store and add any items that you wish to buy to the shopping basket. Please ensure you add the correct multiple of items to receive any offers, e.g. for buy-1-get-1-free offers, you need to add 2 packs of eligible products. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and most major credit and debit cards. If you are shopping from outside the UK, your credit card company will automatically convert the transaction to your local currency.

Please note that placing an order online, paying and receiving an order confirmation from us is recognition of you placing your order with us. It does not constitute a legally binding contract until we have completely reviewed the Credit and Payment Status indicators which we receive from our Banks and Payment Providers and accept or reject the order. We reserve the right to reject any order before despatch.

Post & Packing


Delivery Charges:

Delivery charges are calculated when you checkout and are based upon your location. All charges are based on a maximum weight of 30kg. Please allow 3kg of this for Bags, Glass, Packing Box etc - so, max 25kg of goods. For packages larger than this please contact us before placing your order. Our preferred courier is ParcelForce.

Local Customers:
If you live close to Spices of India, and you wish to save on P&P, you can select 'Collect by Customer' when checking out and come to our warehouse and collect yourself. Please call to check your order is ready before turning up.

EU Customers:
You may have to pay Import Duties on certain items - please check with your local Customs Office for more information.

The Service is offered in 'good faith' on behalf of Parcelforce. 99% of deliveries are made on time. We do not get / nor offer compensation on any service. By accepting our Terms you agree to this.

• Please note: Some products (such as Pickles & Pastes) are Oil Based: The jars are not completely leak proof and it is not uncommon for a little to leak during transit (as we cannot guarantee it remains upright) If a little oil has leaked / simply top it up with a little Veg Oil to maintain the seal between atmosphere and sauce.

• Once an order has been despatched it cannot be cancelled. Any packages returned to us, due to inability to make delivery, or incomplete address, will have return shipping charges deducted at the full rate. Outgoing charges will also be deducted at the full rate (prior to any shipping discount applied based on the order value).

Delivery Schedule

We endeavour to ship your order within 1 business day - subject to weekends, Bank Holidays and/or other national holidays. UK delivery is normally within 1 to 5 business days. International orders are generally received in under 7 days. Note: all estimated delivery times are based on Date of Despatch (ie. not necessarily Date of Order).

Please note: Business days are defined as Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Next Day delivery options are only possible if we receive your order before 2pm (excluding some Fruits, Vegetables and Sweets which are only despatched on Tuesdays). If there is any doubt - feel free to telephone us.

Although most EU packets are delivered in 2-3 days we cannot guarantee this timeframe in all countries. If buying Fruit and Vegetables from us, outside the UK, we recommend you try a small sample to satisfy yourself that it makes it in good time before placing larger orders. We do not guarantee freshness of Fruit and Veg outside the UK. When you place your order you accept that the risk is with yourself and not Spices of India.

Regarding 'Fresh Produce' (Fresh Sweets and Vegetables): Fresh Produce is despatched on Tuesdays for orders received before 17:00hrs GMT Mondays. All Fresh Produce is 'bought to order' - it cannot be cancelled after we have procured them for you.

Most courier services require a signature on delivery. It is your responsibility to ensure someone is available to receive the parcel and that the delivery driver is able to gain access to the delivery address / building. Where delivery instructions are left, ie without signature, we cannot not be held responsible for any missing goods. For example, if you request leaving in a bin where recycling may happen, or, in an outhouse that could be accessed by 3rd parties. The risk lies with you. If you are out, goods may be taken to a Post Office for collection at your convenience. Any uncollected UK parcels that are returned to us will incur penalty delivery charges (currently £7.95) and these will be deducted from any refund together with the original P&P. If you request us to resend a returned parcel, you will need to pay the penalty delivery charge as well as the standard P&P for the second delivery.

Back Orders

In the unlikely event that an item you ordered is not in stock we reserve the right to substitute it with smaller pack sizes, making up the required quantity, and/or another Brand of similar quality. Failing this we will either a) automatically refund the item or, b) if the item(s) represent a major part of your order, we would email you to advise you of the situation, with potential options, and request your advice on how you would like to proceed.

Tax Charges

Most items available from Spices of India are tax exempt. If VAT is applicable then it is already included in the price you see.

Credit Card Security

Orders placed on our website are handled directly by Lloyds Bank and SagePay - the largest independent payment service provider in the UK. When you get to the payment pages you will see the golden padlock in your browser which indicates this is a secure payment handling system. Credit card details are encrypted within 128-bit encrypted sessions which are further protected by multiple government approved firewalls. All details are encrypted during and after account processing.

Guarantee

We endeavour to guarantee your satisfaction at all times. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with our service - please contact us via our website or email address. Please note we do not provide customer services or answer order queries through third party and social media sites.

Privacy Policy

All customer details remain confidential. Asian Basics will not disclose your information to third parties except for the purpose of arranging delivery.

Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option. They are also used after you have logged on as part of that process.

To turn on cookies within your browser go to 'Tools | Internet Options | Privacy' and check that ccokies are allowed on your system.

If you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place orders from this website.

Data collected by this site is used by Asian Basics to process customer orders and to administer and enhance the site and services we provide.

We do not hold your credit/debit card details, or have access to them, at any time.

Returns Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with our service and products. If, for any reason you are not entirely happy - please tell us.

To request a refund or replacement please contact us first by email or telephone. We may require you to return the goods, at your cost, to us for inspection. Spices of India will not be liable for returned goods that are lost or damaged in transit and recommend that you obtain proof of posting.

The following items are excluded from our returns policy: Gift Vouchers, Beauty Products, Food Products, Food Gifts Sets, Incense Products. These products can only be returned in accordance with your legal rights.

Refunds will only be given in accordance with your legal rights on the above products. If your product is faulty, damaged, unfit for purpose or any descrepancy with your order, please report it to us, via email, within 24-hours of receipt. Please note you may be asked to provide photographic evidence of any damaged goods. Remember, if you signed for the goods, you signed as 'received in Good Condition'. Please be sure to check goods before signing.

You may return other unopened goods within 7-days of receipt and, subject to inspection and acceptance, we will refund or provide replacement(s) as applicable. We can arrange to reverse UK collect goods for you. The current charge is £12.95 per parcel (max 25kg goods).

Refunds will only be made via the credit/debit card or Paypal account used for the original transaction. Refunds will have post and packing charges deducted. Where an order qualified for free post and packing, we will deduct our post and packing costs from the refund. We reserve the right to deduct any other charges incurred by us such as credit card transaction fees, picking/packing costs, restocking costs, packaging material and return postage fees.

Any uncollected packages that are returned to us, which included fresh fruit and/or vegetables, will require inspection before any refund can be offered. Other products which may be stained or damaged by the fruit and/or vegetables will be omitted from the refund.

E&OE: Whilst we make every effort to ensure our product listings are accurate sometimes the manufacturers will make modifications to packaging, ingredients, descriptions and/or recipes associated with said products. We try to spot any changes and update our descriptions accordingly but note that we cannot be held responsible for any such changes / inaccuracies that may occur. Additionally, if you have an intolerance to any particular ingredient(s) feel free to call us to double check any given product(s)... If you do spot any differences with regards Ingredients listings or Descriptions please email us to bring it to our attention so we can check and make any corrections as applicable.

Any goods despatched by us in error remain the property of Spices of India. If you receive any goods by mistake, that weren't ordered, please contact us within 7-days to arrange for us to collect them.
