Aloo Chole recipe is a North Indian style curry. Its a combination of boiled Potatoes and Chickpeas in a tangy gravy. This can be served with Chapathis or Poori.

Ingredients:

Chickpeas cans - 2
 
 Oil - 2 tbsp
 
 Dried Chilli flakes - ½ tsp
 
 Bay Leaves - 2
 
 Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp
 
 Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
 
 Pinch of Asafoetida
 
 Onions finely chopped - 1
 
 Boiled Potatoes cubed - 2
 
 Garam Masala - 2 tbsp
 
 Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
 
 Salt to taste
 
 Coriander Powder - 2 tbsp
 
 Garlic chopped - 1 tbsp
 
 Tamarind Paste - 1 tsp
 
 Tomato Puree - 5 tbsp
 
 Water - 1 Cup
 

Method:

• Heat Oil in a pan, add Chillies flakes, Bay Leaves, Cumin Seeds, Mustard Seeds and Asafoetida. Fry for few seconds till the seeds begin to splutter.

• Then add Onions and saute for few minutes.

• Next add the Potatoes and Chickpeas. Cover and cook till they are tender.

• Then add the rest of the ingredients along with Water and bring it to boil. Then reduce the heat to low and cook for ten minutes.

• Once the gravy is thick and blended well take off from heat.

• Garnish with raw Onions or grated Paneer.

• Serve hot with Chapathis or Poori!
