Patak's Curry Pastes make excellent marinades, used on their own or blended 50:50 with plain yogurt. Marinate then bake, BBQ or grill: ideal for chicken, prawns, lamb, kebabs, paneer.

Suggested Recipe: Chicken Tikka Masala

Serves 2

Ingredients: 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
1 Medium Onion, Diced
70g - 1/4 jar Patak's Tikka Masala Curry Paste
250g Diced Chicken Breast
400g Fresh or Canned Chopped Tomatoes
1 tsp Fresh Chopped Coriander Leaf (optional)
100ml ingle Cream or Plain Yoghurt
100ml water


• In a medium sized pan, gently fry the onions in oil until golden.

• Stir in Patak's Tikka Masala Paste, add chicken and stir fry until sealed.

• Add tomatoes and water, mix well and cover pan. Simmer on a low heat for 20mins.

• Stir in cream or yoghurt and garnish with chopped coriander leaf (optional).

• Equally delicious with beef, lamb or prawns.

Meena Pathak's Tip: For a special Tikka Masala, stir creamed coconut into the sauce during cooking or finish with double cream instead of yogurt.

Recipe for Tikka Masala Barbeque Chicken Burger

Serves 4 people

4 small chicken breasts
1 tbsp Patak's Tikka Masala Spice Paste
4 tbsp Patak's Raita
2 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, sliced
1 tomato, sliced
4 lettuce leaves
4 burger buns
Fresh coriander for garnish (optional)

• Marinate the chicken breasts in Patak's Tikka Masala Spice Paste for 15 - 20 minutes (if you have time).

• Cook the chicken breasts on a BBQ or grill, basting with the olive oil, until thoroughly cooked.

• Grill the burger buns until they are nice and crispy and then spread Patak's Raita on both sides.

• Layer the lettuce, tomato and onion with the chicken breast on top.

• Garnish with the freshly chopped coriander, if using.

Suitable for vegetarians and free from artificial flavours and colours.
