The inexpensive way to own your very own Tandoori Oven! / Build your own Tandoori Oven at home with our Hand Made Tandoor Clay Liners...

These are the same 'Clay Liners' as used in our Stainless Steel Tandoor Ovens / Made by the same company / made to the same high standards....

Dimensions (Note: This is a Hand Made item - dimensions are approximate):

  • Height: 18" / 46cm
  • Opening at top: 10" / 25cm
  • Diameter of Base: 13" / 33cm
  • Clay Thickness: 1½" / 4cm
VERY Important Note:

These Tandoor Liners do NOT have a base - they are essentially opened-ended at both ends. As such, you will need to provide/make a base with suitable matarials to protect the surrounding area. Do not be tempted to just place it on a Patio or Grass area without adequate protection (such as Fire bricks or similar). If in any doubt please consult a competent DIYer or call us for advice.

Health & Safety:
  • Position the Tandoor Pot on a clean flat surface, where it will be used, prior to lighting it
  • Do not position the Tandoor Pot under low hanging eaves, branches or other combustible materials
  • Also, do not position the Tandoor Pot directly on Grass or Patio stones - they WILL get damaged
  • Ensure there is sufficient clearance surrounding the Tandoor Pot ie away from fences and other combustible materials
  • Before lighting the Coals/Briquittes, ensure the clay side walls are clean if you are going to be cooking breads
  • Do not use any liquid starter fuel or chemicals to start or aid the burn process : never use petrol
  • Do not attempt to move the Tandoor Pot once it has been lit. Only move the Tandoor Pot once completely cooled
  • Avoid touching the sides of the Clay Pot when it is lit
  • Keep Children, Pets and Garden Games well away from the cooking area
  • Never leave the Tandoor Clay Pot unattended when lit
  • Always ensure Meat is thoroughly cooked before consumption
  • Keep a bucket of sand or water around in case of emergency
  • Only use Naan removal tools to remove Naan from the Tandoor Pot
  • Do not leave the Clay Pot outdoors after cooling (unless you have built a protective casing, of some desciption, and protected the clay from the elements)
Caring for your Tandoor Pot: Your new Tandoor Pot should last you many, many years if these few simple instructions are followed:
  • Only burn Charcoal or Briquettes in your Tandoor Clay Pot and recognised firelighters to help light it. Do not burn paper, wood or other materials as these will affect the taste of the food and will also leave resins on the clay surface
  • During fine weather the Tandoor Clay Pot can be left outside. It is recommended you cover it (after cooling!) to avoid unnecessary damp getting into the Tandoor Pot. Check it frequently and, if any dampness is spotted, move it to a dry place immediately
  • During less fine weather we recommend you store the Tandoor Pot in a shed, greenhouse or garage. Take the time to clean the Tandoor Pot before storing - there's nothing worse than getting excited about your first Tandoor session in the spring and finding you have to clean it 1st!
  • Once completely cooled, the ashes inside of the Clay Pot should be brushed out using a stiff hand brush. The side walls should also be brushed to remove any debris/soot

  • Our Tandoor Clay Pots are recommended for outdoors use only
  • Our Tandoor Clay Pot are shipped 'partially fired'. This means the clay is not fully hardened yet so that it does not crack during transportation from India. After 3, 4 or 5 Tandoor sessions the clay will fully harden. After it has hardened you may cook Naan Bread and Tandoori Roti on the clay surface.
