Patak's Tikka Masala Paste Pots: an authentic blend of aromatic spices, turmeric, paprika and coriander for a beautifully balanced Tikka Masala dish

Just the right amount of 13 spices, expertly balanced and blended, packed into a handy pot, to create Indian dishes bursting with flavour. 2 x 70g pots - each pot serves 2.
Chicken Tikka Masala for 2:

1 Patak's Tikka Masala Paste Pot
1 onion, diced
300g chicken, diced
100g tomatoes, chopped
1 tbsp tomato puree
100ml double cream

• Heat a little oil in a pan, add the diced onion and fry gently until soft.

• Add the Paste Pot and 50ml water, cook until the water has evaporated.

• Add the diced chicken, cook until sealed.

• Add the chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, 75ml water, and cook for 1-2 minutes.

• Add the cream and simmer uncovered until the chicken is cooked through.

• Enjoy with steaming hot rice or delicious buttery naan breads.

Tip: try adding ½ tsp cumin seeds with the onion, and then 1tsp each finely chopped garlic and ginger as you add the Paste Pot.

Recipe for Aubergine Curry for 2

2 Aubergines
50ml Oil
2 Bay Leaves
½tsp Cumin Seeds
200g Onion, sliced
2tbsp Ginger, chopped
2tbsp Garlic, chopped
1 Fresh Green Chilli, chopped
1 Patak's Tikka Masala Paste Pot
200ml Water
200g Tinned Tomatoes, chopped
150g Frozen Peas
1tbsp Fresh Coriander, chopped
Sugar, to taste

• Place the whole aubergines on the flame of the gas hob, and roast until the skin is charred and peelable. Or prick them with a knife and cook them in the oven at 190C.

• Cool down, peel and mash the cooked aubergine and keep aside.

• Heat the oil in a pan and crackle cumin seeds and bay leaves for 10 seconds.

• Add chopped onions and cook until soft and golden brown in colour.

• Add chopped ginger, garlic, chilli, Tikka Masala Paste Pot and 70ml water and cook on medium heat until all of the water has evaporated.

• Add chopped tomatoes and cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes.

• Add mashed aubergine to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add green peas, adjust the seasoning, add sugar (if using) and cook for 2 minutes.

• Serve garnished with the chopped fresh coriander.
